Would like to Joing the Police Department with a General Discharge
Hello Professionals,
I would like to know if it would be possible to join the nypd with a Article 15 on my military record with a General discharge (Under Honerable Conditions). This was in 2000. Is there anything I can do to see my records and/or change them? Would this ruin my changes of becoming a LEO? Thanks

Re: Would like to Joing the Police Department with a General Discharge
It depends on the current requirement for quality of discharge. I've had quite a few police officers want to upgrade discharges because of a requirement or new requirement for an Honorable Discharge to join the police or carry a weapon while a police officer.
The Article 15 isn't a conviction.
