Legal Question in Military Law in New York
Military Breech Of Contract
Ok here is my story I am 27 years old and I enlisted in the Navy because my recruiter told me I would make more money as an E! with two daughters than I did at my old job. I found out that this was a lie, he also told me that I would have shore duty and that was also a lie. He also had my sign a waiver form saying that I never recieved counsiling from a psychologist, or that I pay child support. I am court ordered by NY State to pay child support to my ex. Now because I went to basic I am in the arears because of this recruiter. I also just found out that my recruiter forged a judges name on a court order of custody/visitation that he faxed to Meps on the day I left for bootcamp to get me into the service. I have been feeling depressed and suicidial because I know that I made a bad decision to join the Navy at such a old age and with my daughters and my fiance and her daughter here in NY. I feel like I am going to hurt myself or others because of this problems created by my recruiter and his lies. Is there any advise I can get. Please Hurry!

Military Breech Of Contract
Dear Questioner:
You need to seek assistance from a free military defense counsel where you are stationed immediately. Harming yourself and/or others will not help your situation and while you may think there are no avenues for relief, if you take a step back and a deep breath, you will realize that there are many who are there for you and you have much to live for.
Whatever issues you are having will ultimately have a resolution to them which will enable you to go on with your life productively.
If you need someone to speak with immediately, speak to trained professionals on a suicide hotline right away. They'll help you through this.
Then seek counsel tomorrow on your base for free. You can trust them. You will probably also want to seek the advice of a Chaplain and a mental health provider on base, just for someone to talk to.
You can pull through although things seem more than difficult now.
