Re: assault at the hospital
I believe this hospital (as with all City hospitals) is owned by N.Y.C. HEALTH & HOSPITALS CORPORATION. This entity needs to be given a Notice of Claim within 90 days. There is specific information you must give in a notice of claim. I handle assault cases and would be willing to discuss your case if you are looking to retain an attorney. The above is for informational purposes only and not meant as legal advise as there is no attorney-client relationship.
Re: assault at the hospital
Yes, this is true, but you should really speak to an attorney experienced in filing suits against the city. For further basic information on notifying the city, call "311," as recommended on the Civil Court instruction sheet for filing actions against the City:
http://nycourts.gov/courts/nyc/civil/forms/civ-sc-25.pdf
Civil Court is not necessarily the correct place to file suit - you need to speak with an attorney first, regarding the particulars of your claim.
Re: assault at the hospital
Yes, you need to file 2 Separate Notices of Claim against: 1)NYC Health and Hospitals Corp. and, 2)NYC Police Department. I suggest you contact an attorney with expertise in bringing claims against the City of New York.
