Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York
I was attacked by another shopper in a music store and my face was broken, requiring several surgeries. Is the store liable for my hospital bills?

It depends. Did the store know the other person was violent and might attack you? Did the store see this happen but fail to intervene? If you sue, you would seek more than just payment for your bills - you would seek compensation for pain and suffering and any lost wages. I am a former federal and State prosecutor and now handle personal injury cases so please feel free to check out my web site and contact me.
There may be some liability on the part of the store if certain facts are relevant. You may also obtain money for pain and suffering in addtion to payment of your bills. Obviously the attacker is liable and if he/she has money we will be filing suit against them for pain and suffering as well.

Possibly. Fact intensive. We'd need to discuss in detail. Best, M. E. Zuller; 212-279-8833
