Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

attacked at work

Hi, I'm 47yrs old and a bus driver for the MTA. I was attacked by a 27 yr old customer while I was at work. Now when the cops arrived, they gave both of us summons even though I wanted to press charges against the young lady. I still want to press charges aginst this young lady, but I have no information on her. I went back to the police station to see if they would write a report for me but they said that it's a privacy issue to release the other persons information. I can understand that, but what does that mean for me, does that mean I can't press charges at all? That sounds really unfair that this woman attaked me like that while at work and the police didn't do the leg work so I could press charges against this woman. Is there anyway for me to get this persons info so I can press charges before my court date?

Re: attacked at work

You need to follow MTA's procedures, otherwise you may expose yourself to liability. You should contact your Union attorneys.
