Auto accident - Am I at fault?
I was in an auto accident. My son, age 6 was a passenger in the back seat. I was heading towards an intersection I was in the right lane I had the green light. As I was entering the intersection there was a Jeep that was heading in the opposite direction cutting in front of me to make a left turn. I slammed on my brakes and skidded about 20 feet until I hit the front right fender with the front of my car My son, who was in the center of the back seat, went forward and brushed the side of his face against the back seat. EMTs were at the scene and checked us out. A witness and said she saw the whole thing, that the other vehicle was trying to beat me in the interesection. my car is laid up. my deductible is $500. and I have no rental insurance. Am I at fault? Is the other care at fault? What can I do to get a rental car paid for. Can I go after the other parties' insurance company for the $500. deductible. Should I take my son to the doctors?

Auto accident - Am I at fault
If you had the green light, he failed to yield the right of way to you. The witness will be of help. Did the police issue a ticket? You should contact the Jeeps insurance company. They will cover your $500 deductible and pay reasonable rental costs until the car is repaired or totaled and they make a reasonable offer. If your son is complaining of any pain, get him to a doctor.Notify your carrier so his medical expenses will be covered by your no-fault insurance protection (personal injury protection).
