Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

My boyfriend was injured in a hit and run accident, the driver has yet to be found. How are persons in the predicament covered? (as far as insurance, loss of wages etc)

If the driver is not found, your boyfriend's claims are more likely to fall under Uninsured Motorist (UM) Claims. Feel free to contact our office for a free no-obligation consultation to discuss the case. We can be found at http://www.WeSettle.com and the phone number is: 718-616-1414.

We will be happy to assist you.

If your boyfriend owns a car or lives with a family member that owns a car, he can make a claim under the uninsured provisions of the policy. If there is no such insurance and this accident ocurred in NY, he has to make a claim with MVAIC. This is time sensative claim and must be filed on a timely basis. He should speak to a lawyer asap. Best wishes,

I am very sorry for your terrible ordeal. Your boyfriends case has two issues you want to consider: 1) who will pay his medical bills and lost wages and 2) who will we be suing for his injuries (pain and suffering claim). With respect to the medical bills and lost wages - either an uninsured motorist claim will be set up or if your boyfriend does not have any insurance, then MVAIC. The same holds true for the second part of his claim.
