Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

Canadian Suing a US based Company

I was badly injured due to employer negligence in programming of a computer to control a press. Can I sue for damages being that I am Canadian and my employer is a US based firm? Negligence has been proven by the Canadian Labor Ministry but in Canada one is not allowed to sue thier employer.
