Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York
My child fell from public park slide onto concrete--no rails
In July of 1998, my child fell roughly 4ft. onto concrete and was knocked conscience for sometime. She was rushed to the hosp. by ambulance. The slide was elevated about 3-4 ft. and there was no rail to the back of 3-4ft. opening with no sand or rubber mate. There are all sorts of inconsistencies in documentation surrounding, from what happened to my childs, the condition and/or injuries she has suffered. We attended the deposition requested by the City only to be insulted by their lawyer with a settlement inconsistent with the psychological and physiological damages my child suffered as well as the unknowns she could experience in the future. Our child complains from time to time, still. Please Help.

Re: My child fell from public park slide onto concrete--no rails
Traumatic brain injury is often called the silent
epidemic because of the invisible nature of the
injuries to the casual observer. In order to
properly handle a case such as yours, your attorney
must be throughly versed in this area.
The fact that the City attorney did not recognize
the serious nature of your child's injuries is not
important. It is important that your
attorney does.
It is important that your daughter obtain a neuro
psychological evaluation from a competent
specialist in this area.
Often, the injuries to a child do not manifest
themselves for a long time due to the growth and
maturity of the infant.
