Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

Compensation for lost wages/medicine from scabies from infected hotel room?

I recently stayed at a hotel and

contracted scabies while I was there.

(The owner later admitted that the place

had been infected) This required me to

lose several days of work (unpaid) and

to spend almost 100 dollars on

medications and fumigation for my

apartment. The hotel has offered to

refund the price of my room, but I am

also seeking some compensation for my

lost wages and out of pocket medical

expenses. What can I do?

You should also collect for your illness. You could sue the corporate entity that owns the hotel in Small claims court. Good luck.

You have the option of bringing an action for personal injury; the hotel

breached its duty to provide you with a clean, healthy place to sleep and I am sure they are in violation of various health codes as well.

Consult an attorney such as myself or someone in the area the hotel is located.
