What was the crime?
You should contact your local precinct and file a complaint.

If you have not already reported the incident to the police you should do so immediately - you may have various other rights, including the right to seek compensation, that you should contact an attorney to discuss - feel free to contact me and we can schedule a free consultation at my New York or New Jersey office.

Go to the nearest police precinct. If you are not satisfied with the response, try the local district attorney. Some municipalities will also allow you to create a civilian complaint that can be the basis of a criminal prosecution.
