Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

My daughter was injured (unintentional ) in school yesterday by another student who was playing with a sharp object and resulted in her having to get stitches. I contacted the school this morning and to my surprise find out that the administration staff had no knowledge of the incident until I brought it to there attention...my question is, do I have grounds to sue?

There is a cause of action for lack of supervision in a school setting. More information is needed here. Call an attorney to discuss the details. Also, how old is your daughter, what grade, and how well can she describe what happened? VTY, MEZ
