I can only speak for New York law but there answer here is maybe. It depends on what caused the accident. In NY, the airports are controlled by the Port Authority and there Notice of Claim filing requirments that you need to comply with. There may also be a private entity that was responsible. You should consult with an attorney as soon as possible. My firm has several cases currently pending based upon accidents at New York's two airports.
