Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York
Fall on Ice
I was leaving a major movie chain after seeing a movie. As I walked down the steps to the parking lot I slipped on ice and landed on the steps on my back. While I lay on the ground people slipped and fell. I found out while sitting on the ground that people had slipped and fell before me. I did not take the ambulance to the hospital. But 2 days later the pain was so bad I had to go. I have a bruised rib and I'm told that my spine is twisted. They called it whiplash. Now I see a chiropractor everyday. Do I have a case? If so, will it be enough to pay for the doctor bills. I have no insurance and I missed 1 week of work and now I miss 2 hrs a day to go the chiropractor

I received your inquiry on 3-15-2001.
You appear to have a potential suit for personal injury, Save your bills especially.
The issue of who slipped before you is important and is easier if you know the names of the people. Otherwise, it is a hard case, even though all is not lost.
Any questions, feel free to contact me at [email protected].

Unlike Mr. G, I don't think this is a tough case. The movie theater has an insurer which, if properly motivated (heh heh) will eagerly cover your medical bills. Of course, witnesses always help, but are not absolutely necessary. You can e-mail me your telephone contact # if you still need legal representation.
