The owner of the property is responsible. However, you must be able to show that there was negligence on the part of the owner. Feel free to contact me to discuss your rights and the possibility of a lawsuit.

I am very sorry for your terrible ordeal. We have successfully settled many types of slip and fall cases involving handrails. One of the issues we have to be victorious on is whether the owner and/or contractor was at fault. Another key issue is whether the handrail was defective and whether the owner and/or subcontractor had prior notice of the defect. Slip and fall cases are very complex at times and you need to make sure you choose an attorney that is well versed in this area of law. Kindly contact me, Pasquale Calcagno, Esq., at 1(800)WE-FIGHT for a free consultation. We have convenient locations all over New York and can have an attorney come to your home upon request. You can also visit us on the web at www.1800wefight.com. I look forward to fighting hard for your rights.
