The store may be liable, it all depends on the circumstances surrounding the incident. Was the rug misplaced? Was it folded up? Did it constitute some sort of tripping hazard? Those types of questions need to be considered. If you wish to discuss this further, please feel free to contact me.

Premisis liability cases are fact sensitive. The answer to your question is, it depends.
