Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

After I get a lawsuit the lawyer report to workers compensation, and ask me to sign a document that they request pay back medical spencer and salary and they will not pay more the benefit medical cover. I would like to know if is right. a year ago workers compensation send me a notice of classification as permanent partial disability.

Speak with the atty.Iit sounds like you are having an issue with worker's comp saying "yes, you have a premanent partial disability, woth $30,000, but we are deducting the $16,000 we already paid for your medical expenses and disability wages so you are only getting $14,000" (I used numbers from a case that happened many years ago to someone close to me, long before I was an atty.

Worker's Comp gives worker some way to get medical coverage and wages after being injured on the job. The trade off is that, except in certain circumstances (like a fall from a height) you are prevented from suing your employer in a regular court and getting a lot more for your injury(ies). You can still sue, let's say, the forklift mfr for the defective forklift that ran over but not your company.
