Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

Leaving the country

I recently got into a accident with a vehicle double-parked on the street. Since then I was informed that i'm getting sued for $3 million for his injuries. This August, I was supposed to leave to go to Greece to see my relatives. But then I was told that if I leave the country and they call me to talk about it, I lose the case. Is this true, or is there at least a way to leave the country without these circumstances?

You may chose to move anywhere you want. Advise your insurance company of the move in case they want to talk to you.
