Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

Liability

I am the treasurer of a sports team that is incorporated. Recently one of our players was seriously injured and required surgery. There is a possible lawsuit pending. There was no negligence on the part of the coaches. The player was a minor playing with parental permission. What is the extent of personal liability to team officers should a lawsuit be instituted and won by the parents?

I am worried about being personally liable for a large sum of money.

Re: Liability

As long as everyone was acting in their corporate capacity you are protected by the corporate entity which limits your personal liability. If the corporation had liability insurance you should notify its insurance carrier of the accident.
