Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York
I met a girl in New York who I barely know, and she wrote me an email saying that I was harassing her, and accusing me of things that someone might be doing to her (phone calls, emails, etc..).
She told me she contacted the police in New York.
I am a Swiss citizen, was in New York on vacations and am now back in Switzerland.
I am totally innocent of the things she is accusing me of and I want to file a complaint for false accusations, as I don't want to have any problems with the US police in case I come back to the US.
What is the best way to proceed?

Presumably, no action was taken by the New York Police Department, or any other American government agency based on this woman's complaints, and there is, I take it, no criminal charge pending against you. Does not sound like there's anything to worry about. If you are contacted by an American law enforcement agency, that would be the time to respond in kind. Best, MEZ
