Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York
Hello. Last month is was riding my motorcycle and a car hit me and then fled the scene. I was able to get his licence plate number. My bike and gear was damaged. I contacted my insurance agency (progressive) but they havent bee very helpful. I wanted to know the best way to go about this.

You may go after the other vehicle. For that you need to find out it's insurance information. Contact me directly at 347-612-6677.
Inquire at the NYS (or whatever state issued the plate) Dept. of Motor Vehicles with the plate number. There's a fee for registration information. DMV will provide the name and address of the registered owner of the vehicle.
If you have colllision and property damage on your bike's policy, report the claim now, and give your carrier the car's plate number. The carrier will take care of the rest. If you don't have such coverage, and if the property damage is less than $5,000 consider Smalls Claims Court. If you were physically injured, have property damage in excess of $5,000, or both, consult a lawyer. Best, M. E. Zuller
