Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York
I have a neighbor downstairs that is a commercial business. We share an outdoor space in the back of our apartment. Over the last week, the tenant downstairs has obtained my personal contact information from my landlord. I never gave him permission to give out my personal information. Nevertheless, she has been contacting my personal e-mail, acting on behalf of her company, non-stop complaining about patio furniture of all things. Finally I get so fed up I insist that she stop and say that if she continues, I'll share my experience on Yelp. In return, she has found my LinkedIn page and contacted my employer to tell them that I was sending her threatening emails. I never sent an email from my work computer or from my email account at work. But now because of the accusation, I face consequences at work not to mention the fact that my reputation has suffered greatly already. Finally, my company had previously agreed to pay for part of my MBA program but after this, that has been taken away. What can I do? Do I have any grounds to sue this individual and/or the business for damages?

You may have a case for defamation of character, but need to know more.
