Officials liability at football games
I am a football referee in upstate new york . I am being asked officiate a game without the proper number of officials . If I work this game does this increase my liability in case of injury to a player .

The very fact that you are asking, is called forseeability; if the game goes wrong and you are licensed a violation of rules could cause the loss of license. If whatever they do is forseeable and you have control to prevent it after having perceived it, yes.

If you know and have the opportunity to get more, it might. Reme,ber, you can get sued for no reason, or any reason at all. However, players also assume certain risks.
Why not ask the league for more manpower?

Not unless you have some kind of control over the number of officials assigned to the game. I doubt you have personal exposure but your assigning association might.
