Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

I organize a yearly block party for my street (Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County,N.Y.) Since I apply for the permit and it has my name on it, I wondered what, if any, legal ramifications I might suffer should, someone drive through the barriers we put at the ends of the block and hit someone or thing. Or any other obligations I might have as the permit applicant.
