Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York
Help Re: Palsgraf v. Long Island Railroad
Hello to all,
I am in my first semester of a Paralegal studies program at a local college and I need to find some information regarding the plaintiff in Palsgraf V. Long Island Railroad. Basically I need to know extent of the injuries and the long term effect of those injuries. Any help is appreciated.
Thank you
John

I don't believe the court went into any great detail on the injuries as the case is about the concept of "proximate cause." You may need to look at the record or briefs on appeal for information not in the case. In order to get access to briefs that old, you probably would have to access them on microfiche, either in a Bar Association Library or similar lawyer's association library.
Recently The Court of Appeals has expanded its website and there are many new links that might help you.
There are also many law review articles about the
case, as well as a funny movie by some students at Brooklyn Law School.

Find and read the case. It is a note worthy case on the issue of forseeability, not the injury.
