Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York
Settlements
I know for a fact that my insurance company offered me a higher settlement than what my lawyer came to me with...I was taken back when he offered me half of the actual number and asked me if I wanted him to negotiate it. Is this a normal occurance???

Re: Settlements
This is not normal and raises a red flag regarding his intentions and ethics. Either he is hiding info from you to get you to agree to a lower number so he can be a hero when he gets the higher number, or he is up to something worse. I suggest switching to a lawyer that is honest and forth right. There are a few of them around, despite public opinion.
