Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York
slip and fall
Slipped and fell at a automotive showroom in a shopping mall. Was helped to my feet by two employess. They thought I sprained my wrist and should get it checked. I returned home (60 miles from mall)and went through emergency room at hospital.Had broke my wrist and went to surgery next day to have wrist set and pinned. Will have to go and have retun to have pins removed and cast applied. Auto dealership insurance company called and stated they would like medical bills so they could pay what my insurance would not. This does not seem fair for all I am going through. Thank you

Re: slip and fall
I agree that what you are going through is not fair. You should retain an attorney and sue the car dealership.
Good luck, and I hope you are feeling better.
Re: slip and fall
The true legal question is responsibility
for the slip and fall. There is no absolute
liability for anyone who happens to fall
on your property. The property owner/lessor
must have done something wrong to cause
the condition which made you slip and fall.
Your statement does not indicate what you
slipped and fell on. This is critical
to an analysis of your legal rights.
Retain counsel to further investigate.

You are correct. It isn't fair...unless that is merely the beginning. Depending on what caused you to fall and injure yourself, you may have a claim.
