Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York
I work in law enforcement as a civilian admin aide and was accidentally hit by a taser whilst on duty. Was not electrocuted but both prongs pierced my leg and had to go to hospital to get them removed. What course of action should I take?

If it was done by a co worker, you may have a WC claim.

NYC police officers are not limited to workers compensation and may, under the right circumstances, start personal injury litigation againt the department (City). Not sure whether your employment contract limits you to workers compensation when injured in the scope of employment. Consult with your union rep. or review the contract yourself. Then, speak with a lawyer. ME Zuller
