Legal Question in Product Liability in New York
Invention protection
Dear Sirs:
I have an idea of how to change a switch so that it will save money and also be environmentally benificial. I would like to submit it to a company that helps and supports people who have new ideas. How do I tell them the idea and still be protected against their using my idea without an agreement with me?

You need to patent the switch first as your invention but it is a complicated process.
If the company helps people with inventions they probably get an interest in the patent. Have the contract reviewed by an attorney.
