Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

In 1963, my brother and I purchased 20 acres of land in Pennsylvania. We were both teenagers and single at the time. My brother passed away in Dec. 2009. I do not know if he had a will because we were not on speaking terms. My question is: Does his wife have an legal claims to that property?

It depends. If you were joint tenants, the property is yours. If you were tenants in common, half becomes part of his estate.

I would need to see the deed to determine how the property was owned.
