2 Month Lease

I plan on leasing a condo for 2 months this summer.

The owner wants all the money (2month lease and security) up front.

Is this standard procedure ?

Also, is there any type of insurance to protect me if I have to cancel lease due to illness ?

Yes, standard for summer rentals. Don't know of any insurance to protect you in case of illness.
