Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
My agreement with a real estate broker has expired. I am the seller. In the contract it states that the broker is still to be paid their commission if the owner enters into a contract and sells to someone who the broker showed the house to during the term of the agreement. There is a place where the broker should have filled in the number of days for that to stay in effect. She did not...she left in blank. Where does that leave me? Is there a standard statute of limitations for something like this in New York State?

Why would you want to buy a lawsuit. The Statute of Limitations for an action on a contract is six years. Even though the broker left a space blank, he/she introduced you to the potential buyer and most assuredly will sue you for a commission if you sell your house to them.
