In collecting on a Bond & Mtg that was due 7/15/2006 (now in default) do I have to pay for the ''satisfaction of mortgage'' as the mortgagee or does the mortgagor pay this?

If you want proof that the lein is paid, pay it.

The mortgagee (ex. bank being paid off)is required to file the satisfaction/therefore pay filing fee.
