Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
I bought a house with my boyfriend of 18 years. I put the down payment, but both our names are on all of the contracts. we are no longer together, but I live in the house with our child. I want him to sign over his half of the house to me, so as i am the sole owner of the property.
1. what type of paperwork has to be done for this to take place
2. Can I have the paperwork witnessed by a notary if he cannot be present

A simple Quit Claim Deed should suffice.
