Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

I bought my house 13 years ago, my neighbors bought theirs 6 years ago. Only now, they are claiming that a portion of my property is actually theirs according to their deed and survey. All prior deeds and surveys of both properties are in agreement of where the property line lays. Their new deed and survey are the only ones that show a discrepancy. My questions are: 1) Can a new survey change the property size? 2) What are my options regarding this matter? Thank you!

You need to notify your title company right away if you bought title insurance. No, the survey can't change the boundaries. You should meet with a real estate lawyer to discuss your options. You can call 212-278-1471 to schedule a meeting. No charge for the meeting.
