Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

When I bought (and lived in) my condo 11 years ago, I was allowed to live in it or use it as income property. I live in NYS. Since then, the Board had the homeowners vote on limiting the number of rentals in the condo complex. It was decided that there cannot be more than 52 units rented here. There is no grandfather clause in the rule.

Is this legal or is the Condo Association usurping my property rights?

Thanks. Lois

Lois, this is legal so long as the condominium followed its own bylaws and procedures.
