Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

bought property with two billboards on it.

did not sign a lease only allowed the sign co to use with a verbal

anther company has approached me and are willing to pay much more then original company and also buy the signs and pay a lease

original company is now claiming that they own the signs that were erected in the 50's

nothing in the title no filed easements or other claims when i purchased

The above question was answered and I thanks everyone but i was not clear in what i was looking for

This is my Question new question Who owns the actual sign's on the property I purchased.

I want to put them on notice to stay off and not to come on the property to put any more sign's up on the billboards.

Again nothing filed anywhere and no mention on the title

The sign company says that they erected them in 1964 and again has no lease with me

I mentioned to them some a few years ago to take care of the steel supports totally ignored me

The structural steel supports are eroded down to Swiss Cheese. I told them if they were maintaining them correctly that the steel would of been addressed a long time ago.

So as the property owner i have issues with that also

Thanks in advance

John
