Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

Breaking Lease

If you are binded in a one year lease with your landlord and the document specifically states for example, You may not break this lease at any point in your 1 year stay and if you do you will be expected to pay the months you are not there for. If you sign such a document and your docter feels it is necesarry you break this lease because u are deathly ill and you stay in the hospital 3 months do you or don't you have to pay for the 3 months you were ill if your doctor gives you a note?
