Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
Broker Commission
I looked at a house to purchase in Sept, 2003 with a broker and made an offer that was not accepted. Last week, the house was advertised by the owner for sale in the newspaper. The contract that the owner had with the broker had ended. If I purchased the house directly from the owner in the near future, would anyone owe commission to the broker that took me to view the house in Sept.?

Re: Broker Commission
There is a very strong likelihood that the broker would sue the seller and possibly you for his commission. He introduced you to the property.
