Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

Co-op fire 22

I have pics of fire damage and many witnesses to the damage. I want to sue the contractor who started the fire for items such as dressers, mattresses, clothes and carpet.

A witness to the damage can only testify that there was damage. He or she cannot testify to the value of the damage. Value is established through an expert witness or proof of payment.
