Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
if a deed is lost after a closing what must be done to fix it
1 Answer from Attorneys
Assuming it was not recorded, most contracts provide that the parties will execute such documents after closing as may be necessary.
Contact the attorney who handled the closing.
If the deed was recorded, a certified copy is available from the county clerk for a fee.
