Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

Discharge of a contract

I signed a contract on April 2, 2001 with my sister and two brothers. They have since counter offered 4 or 5 times trying to make the contract different than the one we originally signed. How much time has to lapse before the contract can be discharged?

Re: Discharge of a contract

Depends upon the language in the contract. If it was a complete contract, not just an offering memorandum, a few days to reject terminates it. If it was an offering guideline and continual offers are being made, just write a letter saying you reject all offers other than the first. If the first is not acceptable, deal is off. If a completed contract and they are now trying to change material terms, consider it a rejection and send a letter saying so. If the letters are coming from their attorney, as part of attorney review, also consider it a rejection and send a letter to this effect. I need more information to provide a better answer.
