Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

foreclosure

How can a bank put your house in foreclosure stating you have not made a payment since January and you have receipts up to June of said year. Can a civil suit be filed for the value of your home for false or forced forclosure?

Re: foreclosure

There is something missing in this picture. Before a bank "puts your house up" for foreclosure, you received some sort of notice. It may be that you were behind (about 3 month inpayments) or perhaps you have a second mortgage on the property they did not know about and now do, or something.

There seems to be a piece of the puzzle missing. In any event,it is prudent to seek legal advise to protect yourself abd possibly your property.

Good Luck
