Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
we just found out that the neighbors who are selling their house own land in the back and the side of our father's house. It is a corner lot. We have maintained this property for 53 years, mowing it... If you were to see the property it looks as though it belongs to my family. The for sale property once belonged to the parents of the man who now owns it. They let my parents use maintain the land when my parents bought the property 53 years ago and built the house. The house is in a trust to my 3 brothers and me. Do we have squatters rights to this property? Thanks!

You probably have prescriptive user ownership rights in the land. You should retain an attorney in order to bring an action to declare the title is yours.
