Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
I had a friend who borrowed a handbag since mid august and has yet to return it. I had paided around $65 for it. She said she was going to return it this month on the 21st and never did. I have tried over and over to contact her by text messages, calls and emails to no avail. How do i go about getting my bag back?

If you have the receipt for the bag, you should send a certified letter for return of the bag - within a certain time period. If the bag is still not returned, you may file a small claims case seeking $65 for the bag based on the legal theory of conversion. You must have the paid receipt for the bag. Of course, you will no longer have a friend after you do this.
