Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

friends were over to play Trivial Pursuit. Half way through the game my friend said she lost a sapphire stone (small) from her ring. She wasn't sure where she lost it. I have looked on the floor all over the apartment searching, and could not find.

Am I obligated to replace this stone?

In a word, No. However, if you do find it, you are obligated to return it to her.
