Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

grandma left me a house

Grandma died several years ago the deed was signed over before death. After death her will was contested by her daughter my fathers sister. It is all settled now. My question is how should i file the deed with the clerk. Should i file a gift tax, or bought it for a $1. what is the cheapest tax way to go?

It all depends on what the transfer is and how and for how much and why it was accomplished. See an attorny. The fee will be nominal.

Good Luck
