Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
My husband and his brother own a 6 family home together in Yonkers.
It says on the deed- Bargin and sale deed with covenants
Our concern is- if my husband dies, would his half get transferred to me? and what does that kind of deed mean?

A Bargain and sale deed with covenants is a customary deed used to convey property. However, in order to determine survivorship, I need to know if your husband and his brothers are joint tenants or tenants in common. It should indicate that right on the deed after their names.
