Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

My husband and I are going into foreclosure on our house. Once we are evicted and foreclose, can the mortgage bank freeze our checking account where our social security checks are deposited. And can they freeze my husbands retirement account money. What I am trying to ask is once we foreclose on the house, are we still liable for any money owed to them?
