Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York
illegal sublet
i have been illegally subletting from a person for four and a half years. the landlord recently found out that he is actually married and they found info that he is registered at another address, his license etc. they have given me the seeming requisite 90 to 150 days' notice. do i have any rights as far as the dweller? how long would it take for them to get me out after may 31, if i stayed on? is it worth seeking legal advice? will a court give me free months? can i get them to buy me out or am i just with no rights at all.

Re: illegal sublet
It depends. It could take quite a bit longer if you have an experienced attorney assisting you. It is also likely that during that time you will not be required to pay rent if handled properly. We have substantial experience handling these types of cases, however, we would need some more information before making a complete and proper determination.
